Another designation: ASR instead of GRI,ABR,...

For a few years we have designated agents by the term ASR in my Falmouth real estate office.  This is a tongue in cheek description of those who Actually Sell Realestate.  There are so many that just answer the phone, or get one listing a year, or one buyer a year.

When we talk to an agent we don't know, we ask them how long they have been doing real estate.  Those we have already done deals with are automatic ASRs.  Others we work with, understanding we may have some "extra" duties.

Some non-ASRs get huffy when I ask about their experience, but it is in the sellers or buyers interest to know what their level of business experience is.  Maybe I'm alone in this perspective, but I see a lot of posts about inexperienced agents.

Hi Heath,

I love it!

As one who has a handfull of actual designations myself I understand what you mean. A few times just for fun, while attending conventions, state and nat'l as a spoof I've added another designation to my name badge. I added RH (written in) at the end of my others. Never once did I ever have anyone (other Realtors) ask what that was. It stood for right hand.

Heath, I would like to add the 80/20 designation.  80% of the business is being done by 20% of the agents.

Actually, there is an ASR designation - I have it.  Accredited Seller Representative.  May I suggest AWAW for your designation?  Agent Who Actually Works!

Thanx Tina, I saw that awhile ago.  We had been calling them ASRs for a few years by then.  It is more in-office humor than a designation.  We don't charge the agents for their designation as ASR.

I like the 80/20 one too!  Although it may be more like 90/10.

I may try the RH, too.   LOL
