MA House Bill To Cut College Financial Aid by 23% in MA

There is an Amendment 393 to the House Budget that would reduce the line item for need-based financial aid by $20M (a 23% cut!). This appears to hurt students who are attending independent colleges or universities from receiving any financial aid from the state-sponsored programs. If you or someone your know has a student who relies on financial aid to help pay for college, read this notice.

If you want to send a fast email to your representative, this web site has a "Take Action" form that pre writes an email and sends it to the correct rep.

I personally have multiple students at college and this is not a good omen of the coming budget cuts. It is worth your time to read and decide for yourself.
