Here is something that will impact commercial and residential real estate in southeastern MA in the near future.  As Hollywood East continues to gain momentum, more and more attention will be focused on the real estate here.

College On The Lot is an introduction to motion picture and television production. If you are making You-Tubes and think you know that producing and or directing is in your future, you may want to spend the $275 for the 8 workshops.

From July 14 to November 5, the workshops will meet per the schedule on their web page. If you are at least 16 years old and have an interest in movie and/or TV production, you could learn enough to see if this is really what you want to do.

If you are already in the industry, you might brush up and learn some of the updates that the studios at Hollywood East will be able to provide and/or improve.  Not to mention the early networking opportunities.

It is being held in Plymouth, MA and is a joint effort of The New England Institute of Art, and Plymouth Rock Studios.

Here is a partial description of the workshops:

Week 1: Hollywood and the Studios: How Hollywood, California, became the center of the film universe and how it operates today.
Week 2: Before the Shoot: How a film begins how a film moves from being an idea to a script, and how that script gets green-lit.
Week 3: Pre-production:   Before the cameras can roll
Week 4: On the set:        Who's who on the set - exhaustively - and how they got their jobs
Week 5: Lights,camera:  The camera is just one piece of a very complicated array of equipment that is used on a film set.
Week 6: After the cameras are turned off:  Post-production is where the film is pieced together. Look at the principal people involved and how they work.
Week 7: Television:  TV production is a major part of studios' business and one of the biggest sources for work in motion pictures
Week 8: Film and TV Unions
